Duties include analyzing disease surveillance, emergency dept disease surveillance, Medicaid Rx data surveillance, electronic health record data& applying GIS software to extracted data to monitor& evaluate geographic trends. The incumbent will be responsible for managing databases, developing& testing hypothesis, preparing quality control reports, analyzing data, & preparing presentations& manuscripts MINIMUM QUALS: BA/BS in public health, computer science, epidemiology, or a closely related field, & 3 yrs of professional research; OR A Masters degree& 2 yrs of such exp; OR a PhD. PREFERRED QUALS: Professional research exp in the area of communicable disease control. Exp in database mgmt& analysis, including professional experience with statistical software, such as SAS, & exp or familiarity with GIS/mapping software. Salary is at the rate of: $58, 581/yr.
